Subscription to the Friends of Bentley Wood is to be relaunched next year...
2022 has brought a few changes to the Friends of Bentley Wood.
With the retirement last year of Tony Goddard as our treasurer, we needed to find his replacement before taking membership subscriptions again. And we now have a new Treasurer: welcome to James Orchin. We will be taking subscriptions in January 2024.
We wanted to find a quick and efficient way of communicating with our members, and managing our subscriptions. So this year we have (1) trialled the use of Substack to send out engaging newsletters and (2) the use of MembersMojo to automate joining, renewing and payment of subscriptions.
We have also looked at developing a new focus for the Friends: engaging young people with nature through inviting local schools and young people’s groups to come into the Wood, under the guidance of our new committee member Alex Walker. Alex is an experienced primary school teacher with a particular interest in outdoor learning.
We are lucky to have been joined by ecologist Charley Miller of Hazel Hill Wood, who is interested in supporting Alex to promote visits to the Wood by young people’s groups.
Finally, the committee now has the privilege of drawing on the community engagement experience of David Sherlock.
So… keep an eye on your email inbox in January 2024 for your invitation from MembersMojo to renew your membership.
Or if you do not currently receive our MembersMojo emails, sign up here.
